Core
During my darkest season, walking through cancer, I leaned on God like never before. But leaning wasn’t enough. I had to let go completely and rely on Him.
It reminds me of the trust fall, where you close your eyes and fall back, hoping someone will catch you. Sometimes people can’t. Sometimes they don’t. But God always does. No person can carry you the way God can.
The hardest part of surrender is accepting that it happens on His timing and according to His will, one you may never fully understand. Yet, when you finally release control, something shifts. Freedom comes. Peace settles in. Life begins to flow. It is not forced, not striving, but lived authentically and joyfully. What I have learned is that joy doesn’t come from understanding. It comes from letting go.
Why Choose Joy
God invites us to love Him fully with all of who we are
He provides what we don’t always know we need until we need Him most
Surrendering to His will is the purest expression of love, choosing Him over worldly expectations, culture, and even people we love at times
How to Practice Joy
Pray for clarity around where God is asking you to surrender
Reflect on why surrender feels difficult in this season
Trust God honestly—and do your part before releasing control
Lean into His process, not yours or anyone else’s
Continue to worship while you wait, trusting that God is already at work
Reflect on Joy
Deep within your soul, where are you being called to surrender because the current path isn’t working for you, others, or even your relationship with God?
In this same circumstance, how have you already trusted God enough to begin letting go?
What one small step can you take today to deepen your trust before full surrender?
Daily Joy Reminder
Surrender isn’t giving up. It’s trusting God enough to release what was never ours to hold.
